Adrian Paul is back as the Highlander tonight!!!
Yep, you read that right, chicas! *bounces* That sexy immortal Scottish swordman, Duncan McLeod, is baaaaaack! Which means Adrian Paul is back too. (Can you say "yummy"?!) I didn't know there was a movie on the works. (That's the fifth one!) But last night while watching "Flash Gordon," I found out that the SciFi Channel has a new original movie based on the popular TV series The Highlander, The Highlander: The Source. We all know they were immortals, right? And that there were watchers that observed them but couldn't interfere. Okay, well, in this movie Duncan seeks the origin of their powers. Actually, his lover disappears, and as he seeks her, he finds her with other immortals on a quest to find the source of their immortality. Interested? Check out the trailer:Highlander: The Source premieres tonight, Sept. 15 at 9 p.m. ET/ 8:00 pm C. Don't miss it! If you can't watch it, ready your VCRs or TiVos... *wg* Labels: TV shows |

post a commentOoh! I love Adrian Paul! He is soo sexy! Have you ever heard him speak Italian? OMG! It's even more sexy than his Scottish accent.
His mum is Italian, so he is fluent, and mama mia he is one spicy meatball! LOL!
He's not as young as he used to be, so it will be neat to see how the years have treated him. He used to do most all of his own stunts, but I bet he doesn't now.
Whew! hot hot hawt!
Oh I loved Adrian... er, that show!!!!! :)
Cole
Oh Awesome! That totally rocks!! I love Highlander!
Confession: I've never watched Highlander *ducking*.
I lived out of the country for soooo long - and we didn't get any of this good stuff.
Crickey, when I moved to Bermuda 20 years ago, they only had 2 channels. TWO! And only two very small movie theaters that got 6 month old movies. Thankfully things did improve, but I really missed a good 10 years of entertainment.
I've got a LOT of catching up to do.
But where do I start?
Anyone?? Help???
Is there a movie I can rent to start of my Highlander experience??
This is gonna be awesome. My friend from in the Chicago North chapter, Ruth Kaufman, was in this!! She filmed it in Lithuathia two years ago and is a full-time actress and aspiring writer.
Wylie! We gotta talk! LOL Do you still live in Bermuda? My next two books have scenes in Bermuda and the surrounding area. LOL. And of course I had to include the Bimini Road and the Bermuda Triangle in my fiction. LOL.
As for the Highlander, I would start with the movie that started the entire franchise.
The movie came out in 1986 and should be available for rental in either VHS or DVD.
It starred Christopher Lambert, and Sean Connery.
Here is the basic plot/synopsis:
Connor Macleod was born in 1518 in the Highlands of Scotland. In 1536, after facing a mysterious, evil opponent, he survives a fatal stab wound and is banished from his village, for they believe his survival is the work of the Devil. Five years later, Macleod is met by Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez, a swordsman who teaches Macleod the awful truth; he is immortal, one of a race of many who can only die when the head is cut from the body. When one immortal takes the head of another, the loser's power is absorbed into the winner. Ramirez teaches Macleod the ways of the sword, until Ramirez is tragically killed by Connor's ultimate opponent, the evil Kurgan, a murderous immortal brute who lusts for the ultimate power of the immortals, "The Prize"; enough power to rule the earth forever. Connor fights his way through the centuries, until the time of the Gathering, when the few immortals who have survived the endless battles come together to fight until only one remains, and that winner will receive The Prize. The time: 1985. The place: New York City. The final fight is about to begin, and in the end, there can be only one.
I know it got 4 tubs of popcorn (rating system) from The Popcorn Diva aka Cerri Ellis, when it came out back in '86. So on a scale of 1-5, that's not too shabby. :)
I have to say that I had no interest in yet another Highlander movie.
However, my interest in Adrian Paul has never waned and so I'll be watching it anyway.:) Can't help myself. LOL

You are a gift from heaven! I love Highlander!
I had the scifi channel playing for three hours last night, but managed to not watch a single commercial. Or hardly any of Flash Gordon. Thank you so much for sharing this so I could change channels and catch it!!!!
Wylie and Xakara - I only watched the Highlander to hear Queen's song "We're Immortal" and to watch Adrian Paul. *lol*
Cole - Suuuuure girl. We know you just like the Highlander. *winks and pokes*
Cassandra - I found some pics of Adrian Paul that would make your panties melt. I'll be posting one of them soon as part of the Hump Day Hunk. *winks*
